Dropping price to $300. I forgot to mention that it comes with the original Pentax leather lens case.

Would love to have another DA Limited to join my DA21 and DA70 but the focal is close to my F50/1.7 ... which I use a lot. Will I use this more than my 50 ?

I don't think I can answer that question for you since it depends on your needs and circumstances. I have the FA 50/1.4 which is very similar to your 1.7, so I can offer my experience with both and let you decide on the 40mm. If you value portability more, the 40mm is definitely the winner since it's not just smaller than the 50mm, but the 21mm and 70mm as well. I definitely notice a big difference with the 40mm over the 50mm when I needed to go superlight. However, the 50mm is much better if a wider aperture and a better bokeh is more important. Even though the 40mm's aperture is not as wide, it is sharp wide open (sharper than the 21mm wide open from my experience).

I hope that helps.

I had a copy of the F 50/1.7, which I sold thinking that my new DA 40/2.8 would replace it. Now I think I'll get the F 50/1.7 again, since it simply is an excellent lens. But the usages of the DA 40 and the F 50 are different. The DA 40 is much more usable for street shots: tiny, fast AF, excellent rendering, excellent flare resistance. The F 50 is a low light/party/portrait shooter. If I were to choose between the two, I'd go with the DA 40, which, in spite of the slower aperture, can be employed in more situations IMO. (Also a very nice portrait lens.) My 2 cents.

If you like the DA 21 & DA 70, you'll love the DA 40.

I have the fa35 2 and the fa50 1.4 so I keep denying myself this lens. I don't know if I will be able to resist forever.

Thanks for the helpful info ...
I like my F50/1.7 alot, and uses it for portrait mainly, also for the low-light capability.

However, that DA40 is mighty tempting ...
