Hi Marcus,

I have some very impressive bee-eater shots taken by the previous owner, but I haven't really been able to use it in the field myself - that's the snag with this lens, as I live in Paris and not bang in the wilderness, and can't really take the lens abroad with me.

I'll post one below, but I fear that once compressed it won't look like much - I don't know how to post here while still preserving some IQ. If you want, send me your email address by PM and I'll send you the files, you might do a better job of it than me.

Here it is:

Back after a one-month hiatus, I'm still interested in doing the swap.
Might consider crazy outright offers for the FA*600/4 (but crazy crazy, same crazyness level as the Voigt 125/2.5 that went for the equivalent of $2500 ).

That is one nice lens - I would not let mine go as I could never replace it.

Crazy or not but the Nikon and Canon versions of Voigt 125mm are going for that sort of money on Ebay ;-)

Consider this a free bump from the seller of the 125mm :-)

Really??!! Has production stopped for those mounts too?
I seem to remember that second-hand copies used to trade below $1000 not that long ago (I don't recall even the A*200/4 macro ever reaching that sort of price)... and someone I know from a local forum bought his brand new in HK for the equivalent of 500€ a few years back!

I will have to ask for more craziness then

And thanks for the bump

Go for crazy Nicolas. I bought the Voigtlander and had fun doing it. And also paid a fine gentleman on this site roughly the same for a beautiful 200mm f4 macro. There has to be someone crazier than I am out there! I'd go for it, but I'm darned near broke -

I own the same lens, voigtlander macro, A200 macrof4, and about 8 other macro of different focal length plus tubes, macro converter and others. Guess we are in the same league, a little crazy but I am enjoying it.

Edit: At the price a new 500mm 4.5 sells for in the US someone traveling to Europe could probably easily get a fair deal on this.

Andrew, it is a long, long shot, but that could indeed be the best scenario: someone interested in the 600/4 and traveling to Europe, could bring me the Sigma as part-exchange - it's ~US$800 cheaper in the US than here.
In the meantime I pray for the € to go to parity with the $
