I see a great deal went on with the conversation while I was sleeping.

I use the photo that was sent to me earlier by you eljamopuio, as the example as I sent it to another person well versed in the Pentax field and who shoots with this lens as well with no complaints from you. In using the photo for the interested party recently, I do apologize and should have asked your permission. I sometimes get head of myself. I'm not sure what you mean by "characterizing" you. If you mean that I was talking about you in the 3rd party sense as I believed I was to not mention your name here on this site, then yes I was. I always mention all my buyers on ebay to others as "the buyer" to keep their names out of the limelight so to speak. I did not realize you were on here, again, if your offended, I do apologize. As for Photoshop Lightroom, all I went by was you mentioned to me that I could download a "Free" version of it and try it on the photo's that you took and sent to me to work with. I did not and I also did not look much more into Lighthouse as I have CS2. My short sightedness continues.
I am not upset with you in any way. I'm sure you did what you needed to do. I have the lens, the camera shop said it was fine, I'm happy with that. If the next sale indeed proves the lens has ca that can't be dealt with with whichever camera is used, then I will of course accept the Pentax lens's return.
I hope I have covered my apologies due to you. I will in the future be more considerate to each situation. Thank-you

I'm quite happy with my copy, which I only use on digital (K10d AND K20D).

Perhaps the OP should make the effort to take and post some shots with this copy and let potential buyers decide for themselves.

Just a suggestion, but I think a shot before and same shot after after PP will certainly help sell your lens If you are up to that. Good luck.

Here are some photos taken with the A*600mm, when used with a solid tripod, this lens produces no CA at all. It is a very sharp lens and produces a nice bokeh.

I am following this sale thread with interest as a potential buyer.

First, I applaud trigger for being upfront and honest with the history of the lens including dealing with the slight rebuttal from the original buyer as a gentleman.

I saw the listing before anyone posted, and would have possibly jumped on it then, but the return policy that was stated turned me away right away. Especially now all that has come to light in this thread, I feel as a potential buyer that I would definitely want a chance to test the lens myself with the ability to return it if need be. The original listing basically says the lens is sold "as is" with no return accepted.

Also, the lack of photos of the actual glass itself (front and rear element) is a concern.

And, I do hope you will pursue taking some photos with the lens with a digital Pentax camera so we all can judge for ourselves.

As soon as I can find a Digital to use with this lens, I will take some photo's for everyone. Having stated that I would not accept a return on this lens again was/is not a sound judgement call. I would myself want to return any item I bought if for some reason if I were not happy with it. I will get the front and rear elements up for viewing. Thanks!

Pentax-A 600mm "CA" considerations

Well, here are a few tries with the older Ricoh XR-M film camera and believe me when I say I'm not much of a photographer. I did try several settings, different distances, no filter in lens, no flash, basicly, I set the ISO to 400 with the non-DX film, the stop to 5.6 sometimes, sometimes not. This whole exercise was just to see how much ca I could come up with this Pentax-A lens on a film camera. (right now, that's all I have in cameras)
Any way, until I can come up with one, (a digital camera) I will continue to shoot with the film camera's that I have and will take much better notes on settings etc.

Ok, so I don't know much about how to load the photo's......anyway, I did come up with some ca on the tree, don't know how but there it is, the rest, well , they look ok. I promise to keep track of the settings next time.

P.S. How do I get the photo's upright? anyone........

Little dust on outside, tiny bit inside, no fungus, or scratches, lens coating in VG condition. other side is a bit harder to do. If anyone needs pictures from this angle, I will take more.

To clarify: if your not happy with this or any purchase from me, return the lens or other item in same condition as sent and I will refund your purchase price . 380 positive feedbacks on eBay, in that time, three returns and full refunds. (this lens is one) I am working the next few days though at every opportunity I am looking to find anyone to shoot a few photo's with their digital. It will happen
