Item Description
I'm selling my Soligor 200mm f/4.5 prime, m42 mount. 50$ including shipping to Canada and the US.
Condition: The lens is in very good condition, just a few scratches on the metal body and no apparent scratch on the front element.

It is a preset lens, meaning that you preset the minimum aperture value you are willing to go to, and you then control the aperture between the widest possible, and the minimum you just preset. I don't think I explain that correctly, but basically, there are two aperture rings, one that sets a minimum aperture, and another one that is smooth like a focus ring, you just turn it at your desire to open and close the aperture... pretty cool.

The lens is a decent performer. However, I very rarely use it. I mostly use widish lens as my favourite subjects are people and gathering. My DA L 35mm is the lens I use the most, quite far from that 200mm prime!

I do have a few pictures I took with the lens. Nothing fancy, just few snapshots, but if you ask me via PM, I will dig them for you !

Otherwise, the lens is still pretty light, considering it's all metal construction. It has a built in lens hood that extends very smoothly and quite far from the element, really perfect to prevent flare and decrease in contrast. 55mm filter thread and made in Japan (for what it is worth, back then, I believe better lenses were manufactured in Japan while nowadays it doesn't mean much, although don't take my word for it!).

It comes with a mint super sweet leather case. The thing is really a beauty and fits the lens perfectly. I don't have the original front lens cap, but I replaced it with a Sony Alpha cap I had lying around.
Also, you'll notice on the picture that the m42 mount is sorta in two part. There is like two mounts. There is a detachable part that basically screws itself on the m42 mount and is itself a m42 mount. Not sure what this is for, but I always use the lens with the extra part screwed on it (if memory serves me well) and the lens focussed to infinity just fined.

Ok, enough of the talking, questions, PM please. Here are some pictures of the lens.
