Item Description
Hi, I am selling a few of my lenses, I had a couple of bad lucks lately.

This is my favourite manual focus lens. I have tried quite a few, but this lens is amazing. It is extremely lightweight, small, sharp, fast, smooth focusing, you name it. Sure, would it have been the A version, it may have been even better.

I'm only selling it because I need money to pay quite a lot of things.

Lens condition : The lens is in overal excellent condition. I rated it as good for two reasons : The white dot (the little think on m series lens that "helps" align the lens on the mount) is gone, and the previous owner engraved his name or something on the lens. The lens was purchased two years ago on the forum from a forum member. Front and rear element are scratch free, apertures blades are very snappy as well.

The lens works very well in stop down metering. Really a pleasure to use.

I'm also including a Hoya 49mm skylight [B] filter, original front lens cap and a rear cap.

I used this lens mainly for indoors events, such as concerts and ceremony. I used it on my Pentax K-x, would work great on any Pentax DSLR.

More information here.

100USD-->90USD-->85USD plus shipping and handling
Note that I am also selling a Pentax-a 50mm 1.7 in the marketplace. If you are interested for both, you'll save on shipping and probably a little more!

Shipping to Canada and the US is 10USD

Paypal, add 4%.

Pictures of the lens
Honestly, I did an incredibly bad job at taking pictures of this beautiful lens. It looks way better than what you see on the pictures. I don't know how that sounds, but it's true anyway. It brakes my heart to part with it.

And just to show how small the lens is, this is a size comparison between the m 100mm 2.8 (on the left) and the a 50mm 1.7 (on the right). It is barely bigger.

PM me if interested.

Thank you.

M100/2.8 - A very good lens

I have two copies of super-takumar 105/2.8, one manufactured in 1964 and the other in 1969. Both the lenses behave almost similar except in their color rendering, may be due to the difference in their coatings. I also have a copy of M100/2.8. In my experience M100/2.8 is as sharp and as good as the super-takumar 105/2.8. I think the takumar is considered to be same as the K 105/2.8 except for the coating. K 105/2.8 is a very highly rated lens. But I wouldn't spend more money to but K 105, if offered at the same price I might prefer M100 over K 105 in favor of its size, its weight and its filter size.

I have no connection with the seller, and have no intention to help the seller, but thought of sharing my opinion and just my opinion about the little cute lens being sold.

Well the idiot who engraved his name on the lens should be blamed for the fact the lens is still available now

You think so? At first, I was bothered by it also (when I was thinking about buying it off the forum here a few years ago). But since I got it, I don't remember one time that it has bothered me. Actually, I had forgotten about it up to the moment where I needed to describe here in the for sale thread! But I agree, Pentax-m lenses are beautifully made, a much better feel in the hand than the a series (IMHO), so it's really a shame that someone would do that... I wonder if I can find the guy from the engravings... haha, I could tell him what I think of what he did!
