Pentax 67 600mm f4 lens EXC+ with case+ front cover

Pentax 67 600mm f4 lens EXC+ with case+ front cover

Asking Price

Item Location

Item Description
Looking for a new home for this beauty, preferably locally due to the obvious reasons (it's 6kg + case).

The 600/4 is an excellent lens both on 67 format, the 645 and the dSLR (I used it on K-5). It's usable at f4, sharp at f5.6 and as sharp as it gets by f8.

The trick to making the most of it is a very solid tripod with a gymbal head or something equivalent. Vibrations at 600mm will be the real killer, more so than any softness.

I believe this lens cost over $8000 when it came out. Still demands a lot of money Pentax 6x7 1:4/600 mm Takumar SMC | eBay. I am trying to be realistic with my asking price here.

There is a pretty good review of it here:

600mm

The lens in question is in an absolutely excellent nik. The glass is pristine as are the aperture blades. The barrel is cosmetically very good, showing signs of gentle use.

Pics coming soon!

Just took some quick pics which made me realize that I forgot to mention one thing - there are extra holes drilled into the tripod mount - see pics.

Also - the adapter shown in one of the pics is not included.

I will take some more in better light to also show inside the lens when I next get the chance.

To answer your question directly - yes, the front element is clean. In fact I couldn't see any imperfections in the glass at all, but I will have another look (with a torch) over the weekend.

Took some more pics of the front element but it's raining cats and dogs here - too little light for the inside of the lens.
