Super-Tak 85 1.9 (More Details and Images added)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Super-Takumar 85 1.9

Asking Price
235 USD + shipping (FIRM)

Item Location
Ohio (United States)

Item Description
This lens has served me well - beautiful portrait lens. I will post images of lens tomorrow.
The lens shows signs of wear and has internal dust that does not affect the performance (does not show up in pictures). The aperture ring is slightly loose. With practice I have learned to shoot without accidentally changing the aperture setting. The aperture blades themselves are free of oil and click at all stops (and half stops). The previous owner has engraved some number on the lens barrel. The lens comes with original caps, no hood or box.

Edit: In response to PMs and questions:
The aperture ring is only slightly loose. I mention this only in the interest of full disclosure. Relative to the other fine takumars that I have this lens has a slightly loose aperture ring. The only time one may have a problem is when toggling with the auto manual switch one may on occasion move the aperture ring. The ring always stays at the aperture you set and does not change settings when you merely move/shake the lens. I have taken hundreds of shots without any problem.

This is one of my favourite taks and I am letting it go only because I have acquired a FA* 85. There are some comparison shots at F2 from both lenses - take a look. I love the rendering of the tak and would gladly keep it if it does not sell at the asking price of USD 250 including shipping and paypal

Interested in your wonderful lens, can you describe in a little more detail, the looseness if the aperture ring? If it still clicks into half stops, how loose can it be...

Hi Rick,
Thank you for your question. I have elaborated under description as requested. You are right, how loose can it be if it clicks at all stops and half stops? I think I am just trying to be cautious and try to describe it as accurately as possible. I want the buyer to get the best description before choosing to buy the lens. I have shot hundreds of images with this lens without any problem and whoever buys it will no doubt be thrilled with this lens' IQ.

Here is what I have added above:
The aperture ring is only slightly loose. I mention this only in the interest of full disclosure. Relative to the other fine takumars that I have this lens has a slightly loose aperture ring. The only time one may have a problem is when toggling with the auto manual switch one may on occasion move the aperture ring.
