Sony Conversion lenses Tele & Wide

Sony Tele-Conversion Lens x1.7 VCL-HG1758 fits f58mm filter thread 418gms in weight; 93mm diameter

Has front and rear caps, some fungus on edges of interior lens element small spots of fungus behind front lens element. No loss of contrast on this huge optic.

Sony Wide-Conversion Lens x0.7 VCL-HG0758 fits f58mm filter thread 418gms in weight; 93mm diameter

Has no front and rear caps, some fungus behind front lens element. No loss of contrast on this huge optic.

Price is for both items. Postage will be according to destination but weight will be approaching one kilo with packaging. Returns are accepted but I have been thorough in my description.

Both items originally designed for DCR-VX Camcorder but can be focussed through and used on still camera lenses.

Maybe I missed seeing this, but what's the price?

I have some comments for those who may fear or deride such front-thread strap-ons:

Sony names these adapters according to their magnification factor and thread size, hence the 0758 for 0.7x 58mm and 1758 for 1.7x 58mm. The letters indicate VCL (video conversion lens) and HG (high grade?).

I haven't tried a Sony wide adapter so I don't know how they compare with others. I have and use the VCL-1546A (1.5x 46mm) tele adapter on my 50-55mm lenses with threads from 49-55mm, without vignetting. Mine is the smaller kin of the optic being sold here, which should mount on threads at least up to 67mm without vignetting. I find it very acceptable for portrait use, turning my FA50/1.4 into a 75/1.4 optic with razor-thin DOF. Contrast and sharpness are barely affected at all, and can be slightly tweaked in RAW development or PP as desired. Be sure to use a hood, of course.

There are all sorts of strap-ons, good and bad and indifferent. I recommend the Sony VCLs.

Hi Rio,
Yup I didn't use the template for this listing and overlooked that key detail - yup they are bright and sharp and very large a bit like using a Raynox. $60 each against a new price of $120 or more each (so half price) I know this may be a bit more than your usual prices . Will be sent by Australia Post and can insure if need be at extra cost.

More images of the 1.7x tele converter on the 200mm F4 Super Takumar. Mounted on the K1000 and the flower is at minimum focus distance (15m) with the same setup on the K20D. Flower pic resized only.

This is a big optic.

Price reduction to $50 each
