[SOLD] FS: K/A Adaptall mount

I just bought a beautiful, perfectly functioning K/A Adaptall mount on eBay. When I received it, I discovered that you have to use the camera body to control aperture (like a DA lens). On digital that's great, because the camera retains full functionality. Unfortunately, I plan to use it with old manual film bodies as well, so it has to go.

Listed for less than I paid for it about three days ago:

$95 shipped within USA. Canada and overseas slightly more.

EDIT: Price reduced.

I honestly would not know what that thing looks like and what one should do with it. Could you elaborate a little bit more what this thing does?

Thanks

It allows you to use adaptall lenses on a Pentax camera. adaptall lenses have a universal mount that takes adapters for all camera brands. IMO too bad Tamron discontinued that system, would be great if you were free of the system and could choose any lens you wanted and pair it with any body you wanted.

I can try to post some pics later. I love Tamron SP Adaptall lenses -- they're built like tanks and are really very beautiful, IMO. The 90/2.5 macro is awesome. I just picked up a 17mm, and can't wait to play around with it. 82mm threads! Hell yeah.

You know, $120 seems awfully expensive, even if they are going for that much elsewhere these days. I'll lower the price on this one, even if I am taking a hit. I'll just feel better.

Actually, I think this is the Adaptall-2 adpater. This is basically the revision of the short-lived older version. Just want to point it out to avoid future confusion since Tamron did introduce significant amount of Adaptall lenses.

They seemed to have got for around 75$ to 90$ on ebay, normally with 75-80 being the buy-it-now price.

For people to understand the importance of this adapter, for some cameras (especially crippled KAf mounts, its probably the only way to 'accurately' get auto exposure with an adaptall lens).

edit just did a search on ebay's completed listings, they've gone from 45$ to 100$

Price crapping is prohibited. If you see any price discrepancy, please pm the OP. And without this adapter, you can't even mount the lens on the body, let alone getting accurate exposure.

Right you are. This is the Adaptall-2 version. Here is a link to the actual one I bought:

If you can find one for that price, bully for you. By all means go ahead and buy it. That's just not my experience, at least for copies in perfect working order.

I should mention that there is also the K-M version out there, which goes for considerably less, but you have to use stop-down metering with it. Just so people don't think this is the only option available for Adaptall lenses.

Uh oh, am I undermining my own sale? Damn!

Eh I was just replying to someone else who was saying "too expensive" get on him... (hell was the op himself that said "awfully expensive" lol.)

PS: You can mount the lens onto a digital body with a PK adapter just fine, its the P-KA that provides the electronic contacts. I got two of them plus one KA. (Just with the PK one you have to treat it like mounting a Pentax-M or older lens).

You probably didn't mean to, but pointing out another place with much cheaper price than the posted price is considered as thread crapping.
Ya, and i just realize this is the eletronic metering type. You're right about the auto exposure.

Interested in your adapter

Hi Finn,

I have a Tamron Adaptall II 70-210mm f/3.5 with a PK adapter. I was just taking some pictures with it to sell and am having second thoughts and you go and offer this for sale.

I'm interested if its' still available.

I pointed out completed sales, ie: no longer available to purchase. In any case the price he has it at now, I wouldn't go any lower than that, seems more than reasonable considering it's benefits.
