FA 135mm f2.8 [IF] *worldwide* (hard to find!)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Hard to find: FA 135mm f2.8 [IF] *worldwide*

Item Location
Boise, ID (United States)

Item Description
A superb lens is often reflected in its scarcity. There are NONE of these on that infernal auction site, and NONE sold within the last 30 days. (Also NONE on Marketplace forum currently, except this one.) So some lucky person is getting an uncommonly offered lens (with a superb reputation) to add to their arsenal.

IMHO, now is the time to be buying FA glass. When the rumored Pentax full frame DSLR is announced, FA glass prices (new & used) is sure to rise. The wise know that time to invest in FA glass is now. On today's Pentax DSLRs, this lens is the 35mm equiv. of a 200mm f2.8 !

See the additional photos below. This lens is rather famous for getting the body scuffed up (try to find one without any!) but as you can see the optics are EXCELLENT and mechanically it is flawless. I have rated it "Good" only because of the cosmetics, but feel you are getting an EX lens.

See examples of what this lens can produce in the Pentax Photo Gallery:
PENTAX : Select a PENTAX interchangeable lens camera or a lens model
and also on Flickriver:
Flickriver: Photos taken with Pentax smc P-FA 135mm F2.8 (IF) lens

^^^^^^^^^^^^^Do not miss the links above for examples of images this lens produces^^^^^^^^^^

IF Stands for Internal Focusing. The lens is constructed so that it doesn’t change in length as the lens is focused. It also means that the front element doesn’t rotate – which can help with the use of some lens attachments, such as petal-shaped lens hoods and polarising filters.

$495 plus shipping/insurance (Save more than $100 over KEH copy)

Priority Mail shipping to the U.S. will be $10.95 plus USPS insurance for the value of the lens (for the protection of both buyer/seller). I will be happy to ship worldwide to PF members with good Marketplace feedback. PM me for a quote to your country (serious only, please).

Sweet lens, and appallingly hard to find. I broke down and bought one a year or two ago. Used it recently with my *ist DS2 with great results. Part of my "in case I can't manual focus anymore but want to use film" insurance policy, along with an MZ-3 and *ist (film).
