I just got my Vivitar S1 70-210/3.5 made by Kiron (manual - need stop down with green button). I am impressed with the quality of this lens. Now, I understand the comments about this one. I also have the Viv. S1 70-210/2.8-4 by Komine, so I am comparing them. The Kiron is really superheavy.

EVEN THOUGH I HAVE MANY DIFFERENT COPIES OF MACRO LENSES, IT HAS NEVER OCCUR TO ME TO SELL THE VIVITAR 105. ITS A KEEPER FOR ME.

I few unsuccessful attempt to catch a photo like this for a long time with my Sigma 70mm AF macro. I think that the only way you can get picture like this is to put super glue on the whole tree and wait for a dragon fly to sit on it. Just wondering what is your secret. Great job.

super glue is not the answer. Its vivitar 105 macro.

Marcus's picture looks like some kind of Robber Fly (Bee Snatcher is another name) species. Here is one from me using the Vivitar 105 2.5 (same lens)...
