[SOLD] Fs: K10d $550

Practically new. I bought it for a trip to Mexico in November and it has probably less than 1000 actuations. I came from Nikon and just can't get used to the Pentax interface. I love the colors and the in body IS, but I need to change settings quickly. If anyone has a D80, I would trade straight across. I'll be selling my 16-45/f4 and 31/f1.8Limited too. I'm posting this at work, so no pics. I'll post pics later.

I recently got REALLY burned here in this forum using PayPal, so I will only accept Postal Money Order. Price does not include shipping. Sorry, but it took months to clear up the fiasco with Kingsofronin and I am gun shy of PayPal right now.

Thanks,
Erik

With the current rebate, brand new bodies - with a warranty - are at least as cheap as your asking price - with free shipping, sorry. If I had a D80 I would trade you, though...

That is true, but at least you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of sending off and having to wait for the rebate.

If I had $550 to blow on a new body, I might would snatch this one up. Oh well.

Ok, so I've been having some real problems with my router. That is why I've not responded to pm's etc. Yes, so I didn't really do my homework on the price. Perhaps I should lower my asking or include shipping and PayPal. The point made about the hassle of rebates is not wrong. It took Pentax 2 months to process mine. I didn't think they were going to come through with it.

I don't think I would be averse to doing PayPal with someone provided I can speak with them on the phone.

Price lowered to $500 shipped Contiguous USA(via Postal Money Order). Phone me if you want to do PayPal.

I just got all my rebate money this week for a rebate submitted last August. Definitely a pain. They actually screwed up a single rebate submission 3 times.

Pentax is a truly a reputable company, and if you file a rebate with them you will NOT get burned. If it is a problem to go without the $100 or whatever for a few months while they process it, maybe you shouldn't be spending money on cameras.

I got the rebate for my k100d/lens with no problems, and it took less than two months. Last year on my advice a friend bought a k10d and two lenses, all eligible for rebate. After 6 months didn't get the rebate back and never got the confirmation that it was received (why he waited so long is another story...). I told him to contact Pentax directly (not the rebate processing company) ASAP. He had the check in a week.

Sorry for the rant - I feel much better now

Internet was internothing.

Sorry folks. I did not mean to be unresponsive but my internet connection well and truly gave out. Finally connected again this evening. I will be getting back to folks who pm'd me. Just for general info, I am selling the entire package for $1500 plus shipping.
Thanks,
Erik

Not true at all. I got burned, and other people have gotten burned. I submitted my rebate form with the UPC stapled to the form. Got the standard email stating that I had not included UPC and rebate could not be processed. Called the 1-800 number, explained that I had indeed included the UPC, and I was given a new processing number. Two weeks later, got the same email stating I had not included the UPC. Called again and was basically told -- sorry, without UPC, no rebate.

It isn't a problem to go without the rebate amount ($50 in my case), but it is a problem with following the rules (twice), and then not getting the rebate. I'm glad you got yours, and several other people have gotten their rebates, but there are a lot of us that got burned.

I just got the 43 at the beginning of this month, so I sent off for the rebate. I was concerned about them losing my upc, so I glued it to a 3 1/2 x 5 index card and put my name and address on the back, so if it got separated from the rest of the paperwork, someone could match it up.

They're supposed to be mailing my check sometime around 2/13.

HTH,
Heather
