You have to warn potential buyers, this lens is dangerously sharp. It is so sharp that my wife does not let me take a photo of her at close up. I have to use one of those soft lenses wide open (most of them). This lens is wonderful, I found that the focusing thing is more a camera set up than the lens. I usually do spot focusing, or definitely do manual when concentrating on a subject. I have used on AF extension tubes and works pefectly, allowing me more distance between the lens and the subject. Also, I rarely use the hood, so I keep it retracted.
Right you are about the sharpness of this lens!
I did "test" it out a couple of times for family stuff and one of my daughters asked me to delete one of the photos of her ... showed her face with too much details, plus she had no makeup on !!

Great little lens.

One of the nice things about this AF macro vs. the Pentax 100mm WR is that it has an aperture ring (to allow aperture settings on extension tubes and bellows) and an AF limiter for those times you use AF. Wish my my 100mm WR had those sometimes...

This is true ! The limiter is handy and, even if I don't really make use of the aperture ring, it is a great help for those who know how to use it properly.
