I am selling a Pentax SMC 75mm f2.8 AL lens, with front and back caps, soft case, and original box. Introduced in 2001, this hard to find optic was one of the last and best lenses made by Pentax for their legendary 6x7 system. Utilizing an aspherical element to control optical aberrations, it is a fast and compact semi-wide angle that offers extremely high resolution and exceptionally close focus, making it the perfect standard lens for 6x7 and 645 film bodies, or the new 645-D, using the Pentax 645-67 adapter (see photo #6 –camera not included, of course). When used on a 645 body, the wider coverage of 67 lenses improves image quality by using only the "sweet spot" of the lens, resulting in better contrast and resolution, and reducing light fall-off at the edge of the frame. The downside of using 67 lenses on a 645 body is the loss of auto-focus; but the accuracy of the focusing sensor in the 645-D practically makes this a non-issue. I bought this lens new, and am its only owner. As the above pictures clearly show, It has been lightly and carefully used, and is functionally and cosmetically flawless, except for a few very small marks on the outside of the lens shade which are difficult to see in normal light.
