Da 50-135, Tamron 17-50

Hey fellow Pentax Forum Members,

I am currently looking to invest in a smaller sized kit for travel purposes. Specifically looking to trade these items for DA/FA ltd primes (DA 15,DA 70/ FA 77) or alternatively sell.

$875 The Da * 50-135 was purchased from BH photo & Video in late 2011. No SDM issues and is practically brand new. Has been used for portraits and sporting events. Reason for selling is the size. I would prefer a smaller kit containing primes. This DA* also has a 3 year Sagemax Prot Plan. Purchased along with lens late 2011.

$400The Tammy 17-50 was purchased from a pentax forums member who had owned it from new. Have all papers and boxes. Has been used for general portraits and school events. Selling due to wanting lightweight primes.

$35 B & W UV Filter . 67mm Matching both DA* 50-135 and Tammy. It lived on my 50-135 .

Accept Paypal, PM for details about postage. Will also consider overseas Trade/sale

Will provide pictures on request for all lenses. PM me for any clarification

Yes I agree with the above post - your wanting a small kit but you want the DA* 16-50? My Suzuki Swift is smaller than that thing!
Also, you do realise the 50-135 is WR right? Also... it'd wanna be a bloody good holiday if it's worth trading the 50-135 for.

Hey, I was thinking of something along the lines of ; 18-135 WR (walkaround P & S lens) , a DA 15 (for the wide shots I really want to shine) and possibly a DA* 55 or DA 70 (for medium telephoto portrait and low light).

The alternate being a 16 - 50 wide walkaround with WR, and possibly a DA 70 for portrait application.

I find the full capabilities of the zoom on my DA 50-135 just arnt being used :/ I own a DA 35 macro and often it is glued to my k5 when on holidays.

Your idea is very feasible. I have a K-5 + 18-135WR & DA15, DA40 (or FA35/2), DA70 + Tamron 1.4x PZ TC in a Lowepro Nova 170 that travel economy at my feet under the seat in aircraft all the time. For me, the combo is an ideal, light Pentax dSLR travel kit that provides superb IQ. Just substitute your DA35 for the DA40 in my configuration.

Now if only Pentax would produce an dSLR the size of an ME or MX with their gigantic viewfinders - throw on the FA35, the camera would fit in my coat pocket and I'd be in heaven.

I'd steer clear of the DA16-50 because of its SDM issues. The 18-135 has the newer silent DC motor and has had zero motor issues reported that I've seen on these forums and in the SDM poll.
