Too much stuff here that others could be using!


I picked up three film bodies with other gear, so I'm letting two go. The XR-10 was used to shoot the solar eclipse and worked fine; the ME looks in excellent condition but has not been tested. I could grab some film & test before the sale if needed.

SMC-M 135mm f/3.5 $45
Lens is in great shape and is a small marvel especially when stopped down a notch or two. It's in excellent condition but for the typical problem with these lenses: an out-of-round lens shade.

Quantaray 100-300mm f/4.5-6.7 sold
A Sigma by another name; it's a fine AF lens and full-frame/film friendly with aperture ring and 'A' setting. I find the IQ comparable to the DA55-300 but contrast is lower, which is an easy thing to fix; a 55mm hood would help too, Quantarays never come with hoods it seems. Here's a shot at 300mm f/8 with both lenses (manually focused on 'Fire Wood' + handheld); in this case the 55-300 is hard on highlights due to its better contrast. This lens focuses faster than the DA55-300 in good light but beyond 230mm you're at f/6.7 so it hunts in poorer light but it hunts fast! The versatility of the 55-300's extra range outweighs any potential full-frame uses for me.


Vivitar 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 $40 shipped USA
A nice full-frame mate with the above, but manual focus and 'one-touch' zoom/focus ring. It has the 'A' setting on the aperture ring. This is of Kobori make according to the web, with serial number starting at 77. Zoom creep is unstoppable with the push-pull zoom and big glass on the front, but it's a nice lens and takes good images. I'm just too happy with my 28 and 50mm primes to give this one much time.

I'm in a long-distance conversation about the 28-105 and 100-300, nothing concluded just yet.
