Hi! Would there be a work around for non-52mm sized lens? Thank you

Yes you can get all kinds of different step up or step down filter rings to fit this to other lenses.

Very interested in this. However, my macro lens is 55mm filter thread. I could use a step-down filter ring, but would I experience vignetting?

Maybe a little. And probably none if you are using a full frame lens.
But to be honest, I really don't know.

I have the exact same ring-light with my Lester Dine 105mm/2.8 macro.

Using a step-up ring (or maybe it's step-down, I can never remember which way the naming is arranged) it also works fine with my Tokina ATX 90mm/2.5 macro, haven't experienced any vignetting.

TBH, even if there were vignetting I seldom pose a macro subject in the corner of the frame so it wouldn't matter to me.

That is encouraging. The Tokina lens has a 55mm filter size.

I've been trying to obtain a 55mm-to-52mm step-down ring, so I can test for possible vignetting before offering to purchase.

Thanks for the info!

You're welcome.

btw, I forgot to mention: the TTL setting generates a full dump on my K10D. (This is exactly what I would expect from a TTL system that pre-dates the pTTL protocol.) I've been toying with a small circuit to build a manual controller so I can choose full, 1/2, 1/4, etc, but I sort of lost interest somewhere around spring. Maybe when winter arrives I'll get back to it.

Thanks, Duncan. If possible, could you reflect on the following quote, from another ad?:

The ring flash probably has the Pentax TTL module fitted, but be aware this is not digital TTL. The "Auto" mode works pretty well (using the flash unit's built-in detector), but flash exposure is not controlled by the camera in this mode, and you have to use the aperture the flash unit expects.
Does this mean that the ring flash would not work in TTL mode on the *istD DSLR model, which has true TTL, not P-TTL?

I believe the ring flash WOULD work in TTL mode on the *istD (and older models), since that camera uses TTL as opposed to pTTL.

Of course, to work with the *istD would require the Pentax TTL module fitted -- not "probably fitted", but "fitted".
