Item Description

Hello everyone! I am selling a hard-to-find copy of Carl Zeiss Planar T* 1.4/50 lens (MMJ model) which has been professionally converted to M42 mount (infinity focusing is fine). With this modification, you can now enjoy this great lens on Pentax DSLR with a simple M42 adapter. Of course, it can also be used on other DSLR's with the suitable adatper.

This copy is in EXCELLENT condition with very minor signs of wear on the barrel. Glass is clean, free of fungus or haze. There is some normal dust inside with no impact on IQ. Focusing is smooth. It comes with both front (off-brand) and rear caps.

More sample images available upon request.

Asking $295 shipped. The sale is intended within US. For members outside US, please contact me first. The price includes USPS Priority Mail with Confirmation in US. Payment through PayPal (add 3% with regular PayPal).

What was the original mount? (Just curious.)

And what is the minimum focusing distance? I'm guess that may be been tweaked with the mount change -- can you measure the closest thing you can focus on (from the end of the barrel) when it is set on the minimum (at 1.4)?

Hi, this lens originally has a C/Y (Contax/Yashica) mount before conversion. I believe C/Y and M42 have the same flange focal distance (45.5mm). As a result, it doesn't require tweak of the minimum focusing distance and this is confirmed by the procedure illustrated on the Leitax website. I just did a quick measurement as you suggested and it gave me approximately 41 cm which is consistent with the scale display on the lens. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Thinking about it -- we'll see what the next week holds if no one else picks it up...
