Pentax should make a DFA135/2.8 lens of this lens right away. Never regretted that I bought mine. And the way it is built makes the auto-focus very fast.

Agreed. Because of the fast AF and small, discreet size, it turns out this lens is useful even if you already have a DA*50-135.

And the IF means people can't see it focusing, so no one ever feels like you're "zooming in" on them.

This lens is really the Bee's Knees - just see the photos if you don't believe me.

Oh yes, since mine got stolen I keep fishing for a moderate telephoto lens for portraits. Pity I lack the funding, I would buy this in a heartbeat. I often revisit my photos taken with the 135 for a pinch of nostalgy.

You are killing me here. Or maybe I'm killing myself, more likely. Either way, somebody buy this beautiful lens before I do something drastic.

No, I'm killing myself here.
I already regretting for this one (and Revuenon 55/1.2), but I work in a dying industry in Europe and next year will be tough. So if I end up in a job market, I'm probably going to try to make some money making photos, and I'm going to need more opropriate tool for that.
Hence the sale.

I love this lens, got one from a Forum Member here, and will never likely part with it. Forwarding your ad to a new Pentax user I know (user, like as in an affliction), hope someone gets this soon, it is hard to look at here at this price ... a backup would be nice, but ... I no way have the funds for it. Killing me like the others that post

I almost sold mine a while after I got my DA*50-135. I'm so glad I didn't. Now it's seeing more use than the DA* zoom - sometimes for its compactness (I can take only a small fanny pack all day), sometimes for its unobtrusiveness (small with IF means no one sees you "zooming in" on them), and sometimes for its faster AF (for action or sports).

I'm not sure it's fair to say either one has better overall IQ than the other, but as the samples attest, the images from the FA135 just come out good. I've been shooting it alongside the FA*85 and F*300 lately - two very good lenses. I'll shoot the FA*85 around f/2.8, the FA135 between f/3.2 and f/4, and the F*300 at f/5, and the IQ comes out comparable.
