Item Description
Whether you are a member of the Tamron Lens Club or simply would like to be, you can't go wrong with this widely-respected and excellent performer: Tamron SP 60-300mm f3.8-5.4 (23A)

This lens has the (35mm equiv) FOV of a 90-450mm. Tamron also makes high quality 1.4x and 2.0x that can be mated to it, making this a "poor man's BIGMA" at a small fraction of the BIGMA's price tag.

Adaptall lenses are popular, thanks to the fact that they can be used on different camera systems with the appropriate mount. Mounts are available all over the place (both original Tamron and after-market). On a Pentax DSLR, you can use an m42 mount (with m42 to K adapter... meter with Green Button), with a Pentax PK mount (use like an M lens) or the PK/A Adaptall mounts (with which it functions as an "A" lens). If you still shoot film, it is nice to have a lens that can also work on other brands (Nikon, Canon FD, Olympus, etc).

The SP designation represents Tamron's "top of the line" models. Build quality is exceptional. Optical quality is superb. This lens is in excellent mechanical, and optical condition and I would rate the cosmetics as Very Good. Includes the original Tamron hood (which normally fetches nearly $20 by itself!)

Don't take my word for it, check out these galleries and then tell me you ever got as much "bang for the buck" before in your LIFE.

Don't forget our own PF Reviews where it gets a 9.7 on the VALUE scale!

This lens does not include the Pentax adaptall mount. Pics coming!

I have one of these as well as the Pentax 55-300. The tamron is optically as good a performer as the 55-300 plus it has an excellent true 1:1.55 macro mode. It's a superb performer and it's sharp at all focal lengths.

will it work with my kx?

I'm a beginner, but I want a longer zoom lens. Would this work with my Kx?

---------- Post added 12-06-12 at 09:00 AM ----------

What exactly would I need to purchase to use this with my Kx?
