I am selling an excellent Vivitar 285HV flash.

This is a fully auto thyristor flash with multiple auto modes available, a zoom/tilt head, lots of power (GN 120 feet), full manual controls. It's a great all-around flash only missing the newer PTTL mode, but you can still use it in auto with a modern camera.

this is not the newer, cheaper versions of this flash, but the "vintage", sturdy, reliable version that was in every pro's bag in the 80's.

This flash is perfectly safe for use with modern cameras, I tested the voltage and it is around 8 V when charging AND when fully charged. It really shines both on a camera and for studio work. I use it with Pure energy batteries and its recharge time is almost instantaneous if you use it at 1/2 power or below.

It was recently tested by an electronics technician at work, and everything is as new inside.

I am selling only because I wanted to have two identical flashes for my studio setup (easier that way). That flash still sells new (the cheaper modern version) for about 80$ or so.
