Up for grabs is a new Pentax K2000 (K-m in Europe) Digital SLR Camera w/18-55mm lens. This camera was a wedding gift that was taken out of the box but was never used. I guess that's what happens when you give a DSLR to someone who has no interest in photography! The original owner no longer had the box, but he had everything that came in the box, including all manuals, software, camera strap, etc.

I shot with this camera around my house and in my home studio for a couple days to verify that everything works perfectly. After my testing, the shutter count on the camera is between 300 and 400 shots. I came away impressed with the image quality of this camera. The colors and details are fantastic! I've heard some people say they prefer the image quality of a CCD image sensor over a CMOS sensor, and I think I see why.

This is also a very comfortable camera to use and carry, since it is a little bit smaller and lighter than most DSLR's. This would be the perfect camera for a beginner photographer, or as a backup camera for an advanced Pentax user. Like all Pentax DSLR's, this camera features built-in Shake Reduction (SR), so unlike your friends with Canon and Nikon, you don't need to worry about buying the more-expensive and bigger stabilized lenses. It is also compatible with all the great legacy Pentax lenses out there. Like the K-x (and K-r with an adapter) this camera takes AA batteries and SD cards.
