FA 50 f/1.4 (infinity focus fixed)

I wish I could keep all of these, but I can't. So here are some lenses I thought I'd never sell. Prices include domestic shipping and PayPal. If you want it shipped overseas, price will be actual shipping cost minus $10 per lens. Unless otherwise specified, all lens functions (focus, zoom, aperture) work as they should. I'll include two photos of each lens. For more photos, visit the gallery at https://www.dropbox.com/sh/897yinbzrdw1wsq/nR_7otfrVG/lens%20photos

Will sell at a 10% discount for the entire package: $965.

DA 18-55 WR • $100 SOLD
This is my only water resistant lens, but I don't use it enough to justify keeping it. Comes with hood, original front cap, and a random rear cap. No box. As far as I can tell, the lens is in perfect shape. Since I don't really use it, I don't have a ton of photos taken with it, but it's a good lens — definitely better than it gets credit for. I've also owned the 16-45, and I didn't find it significantly better than the 18-55.

DA-L 55-300 with hood • $175
SOLD
Decently sharp and contrasty with a convenient focal length range in a compact package. I have a Sigma 170-500 for long shots, but it's huge and I wanted a smaller lens to carry around with me. I used to own a Sigma 70-300 DG Macro, and the DA 55-300 is definitely a better lens (albeit not macro), as well as a smaller lens. At its smallest size, it's about 3/4 of an inch longer than my K 135 f/2.5, and it's a little bit lighter than the 135. The condition is great - no scratches or dings either on the lens body or the glass. I'm sure there's some dust inside, but I don't really see it. I'm including the aftermarket lens hood that I bought for it.

K 135 f/2.5 • $225 • $205 SOLD
I really didn't expect to sell this one, but I got a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8, and I can't afford the overlap. It's a beautiful lens with rendering qualities similar to my FA 77 Limited. It's a great long portrait lens with excellent bokeh. I used it wide open almost all the time, but the aperture functions 100%. Very minimal dust inside. A great copy. There is some wear on the lens barrel, but not much - see the link above for detail photos. Comes with random front and rear caps.

FA 50 f/1.4 with rubber hood •
$220
Another great portrait lens. Selling because I got the Sigma 50 f/1.4. This is the fastest-focusing lens I've ever used (on K-5). I bought it used, and it was in perfect shape, but about a week after I got it, I noticed that it wouldn't focus to infinity. It stops at about 30 feet. If you're using it indoors or for portraits, you won't even notice this limitation. I contacted Eric Hendrickson, and he can adjust it so it focuses to infinity. I don't know how much he charges to make the adjustment, but I've had him work on lenses before and his prices are quite reasonable. The infinity focus issue has been fixed. The lens now focuses to infinity normally. See sample photo at the bottom. Also, when I took photos of the lens, I used a flash and I discovered a tiny mark in the front element coating. So annoying. You can't see it at all in normal light. I've noted it in one of the photos. (It's tough to focus on, so it's a bit out of focus, making it seem larger than it is. Furthermore, the little blip to the right of the white mark is just part of the reflection.) Otherwise, the lens is in excellent shape. Comes with original (I think) front cap and random rear cap.

F 50 f/1.7 • $165 • $155 • SOLD
Again, selling to cover the cost of the Sigma. This one came to me with a couple flaws: The filter ring was broken and replaced with an empty filter ring. So you can screw filters on normally, but it looks a bit different. It also has a pinprick mark in the front element coating (noted). The other stuff is just dust on the surface. The recessed area in front of the front element is a little dinged — you can see near the tail of the arrow. It takes fantastic photos, though, and is wonderfully sharp even wide open. I really like the bokeh of this lens as well. Comes with random front and rear caps.

K 50 f/1.2 with rubber hood • $200 •
$190 SOLD
I might keep this one. I'm not sure it even qualifies as ugly. I think "beat to hell" would be more accurate (see the photos). I bought it from overseas knowing that it had problems, but I wanted that f/1.2 experience, and this lens delivers. Let's start with the good: It takes nice, dreamy photos wide open, and contrast and sharpness go up when stopped down. Even though wide open shots are portrait-soft, there is still sharpness and detail in there. It's only minimally more dreamy than the f/1.4 Pentax fifties (I've owned the M, A, and FA). You can see what I'm talking about in the photos.

Now the bad: The lens focuses (not smoothly) from normal minimum focus distance to infinity, but the distance scale doesn't match the focus distance. I'm guessing this has to do with the fact that the lens was inexpertly disassembled and cleaned at some point. There are remnants of fungus inside, including one appx. 2-mm mark on an inside element (highlighted in photo). There are also some hairline scratches on the front element and some tiny tiny pinprick marks on the rear. The aperture functions normally from f/1.2 up to the stop between f/5.6 and f/8, but beyond this it is slow, unless pointed down. So if you want to take f/22 photos of your feet, you're golden; the moon, not so much. But who gets an f/1.2 lens to take pictures at f/22, anyway? I have a feeling this could be corrected by someone who actually knows what they're doing, such as Eric. He might be able to better clean the inner elements as well. No guarantees, of course.

Comes with random front and rear caps, and a rubber hood. Despite everything, I love this lens. Like I said, I might just keep it.

One last bump. I'm a little surprised that nobody wants an f/1.2 lens for under $200.
