Hello Aegon,

Do you know why the 40mm Limited squeaks when mounting? From your experience do you believe this could be a problem or know of a way to cure it? For how long has this been happening? Is it getting worse?

Regards,
Jay

It's the metal hood that squeaks when installing or removing it from the lens. It's just anodized metal on metal threads. Mine does the same; perfectly normal and harmless.
Filters often do the same thing on any lens because you can't risk lubricating the threads.

It has squeaked since new. I've been meaning to get a film canister plug instead (which fits the inner part perfectly), but I never got around to it.

I never used the XS lens...but that limited is not too shabby! If you had to pick one to keep that should be it.
