This is a manual 300 mm Pentax Prime lens with maximum aperture of F4. It works great on the current DSLR. Just set the aperture to 4 and adjust the shutter speed to get the exposure. Yes, for the automatic version, the price is 4 times as much. So to my mind, this is a great way to get into wildlife or bird photography. On a Pentax DSLR, the effective focal length is 450 mm, so you better use a tripod! The glass and optics are flawless. The body has a few scratches so I have listed the item as fair.
