[SOLD] FS: Sigma 400mm

I have this lense For Sale - I don't know what its worth and since rules state we have to list a price I'll say $90.00 USD including postage in the Continental US and Canada.

Sigma Corp. provided this info:
Regarding the following lens Mirror400 400mm F5.6, please refer the following data.

Release year: 1985
Lens Construction: 7 elements in 7 groups
Minimum Focusing Distance: 200cm
Maximum Magnification: 1:4.3
Dimensions: 92x111.5
Weight: 625g

The filter holder is broken but can still hold any of the included filters. If you shoot only colour you don't have any worries.
This fits K-mount Pentax.

Not that I'm going to get loads of interest, but order will be according to order of posts on this thread.

Thanks

Do you have any sample photos? I am interested in the sharpness of the photos. Thanks!

I too would be interested in some sample pictures if possible. I have actually been looking for the 400 or 600mm mirror lens by Sigma.

PM sent.

Although I want to let you know that putting this up for sale on the day of the Lunar eclipse is a little bit evil

I have thought of a question now that I've looked at the pictures a few times: Does this lens mount on a K10D? I'm wondering if the pesky flash might get in the way...

400 mirror

I had the 600mm version and it does fit my DS, so unless the K series is very different at the upper front part of the camera, where the built-in flash is resides, it should be no problem.

My 600 was quite capable of sharp pictures, but it was not easy - definitely needed a tripod. Id guess that this model should do at least as well, possibly better, simply because there's less magnification. It's critical that the mirror coating is not affected by spotting or starting to lift. My 600 had excellent construction, it really was well built. Sold it for almost triple this asking price, so the price is certainly right.

Bokeh is tricky, though, some people hate it, others don't mind. Just avoid taking images that have small bright spots in the background if you don't like the donut effect.

Thanks for the enquiries.

No, it does not have a A setting, it is NOT Autofocus.
Yes, it DOES fit on ANY K-mount. I have used it on the istD.
Like Andre says, some people like the bokeh, some don't. I didn't mind it. I'll try to find some shots taken with this lense - if I remember which ones, and post them.

I never used it for any sports shots. Always used it on a tripod because the lense is huge for my small(ish) hands.

Thanks for your interest.

Sales is Pending as many have preferred PMs to ask questions and show interest.
Thanks

Since several people have asked - I guarantee there is NOTHING wrong with the lense except the filter-holder.

JC, I will be sending payment shortly.

It doesn't affect my decision, but have you used it with a teleconverter? How were the results?

Yes I have used it with a cheap2X TC and as you might imagine the results are quite degarded - wasn't a happy camper.
