Pentax DA*55 f1.4 SDM for trade (Trade Pending)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax DA*55 f1.4 SDM for trade

Asking Price
For Trade - now also for sale $600 USD

Item Location
Pennsylvania (United States)

Item Description

Trade Pending

For Trade: I would like to trade my DA*55 SDM lens plus cash for a DA*50-135 SDM lens. I am now also open to selling the lens for $600 shipped.

As I continue on my quest for the perfect kit of lenses, I find the need for a little tweak in my lens line up. While the DA*55 lens is just phenomenal, I find that I am more of a zoom shooter and feel the DA*50-135 would suit me better.

The lens is in just like new condition. I bought it new in September 2012 and have used it for no more than 100 shots. This is actually my second new copy of this lens as the first had serious back focus and was returned. I was very happy to see this second copy to be right on in the focus department. When reading about this lens on the forums, it seems there are a few stories of these lenses having front/back focusing issues. I write part of this off as the depth of field on these lenses is razor thin at f1.4. When I received it, I put it through a focus test on a static subject in good light on a tripod with the 2 second timer and happy to see that it is right on with no AF adjustment on my K-5. I have this set of test images at every aperture along with other examples to share with anyone interested in a trade.

What I have for trade/sale is:

Pentax DA*55 f1.4 SDM lens
Original front and rear caps
Original S90-100 soft pouch
Original hood
Original box with all containing packaging and paperwork.

I am hoping for a traded DA*50-135 to be in similar condition. Of course there is a value difference here and am willing to talk with anyone interested in a trade for what amount of cash difference would be suitable for both of us.

Now open to sell the lens for $600 shipped - still open for the original trade offer.

If you have any questions, or want to talk about a possible trade, please just PM me - I will respond quickly.

While still looking for my original trade offer, I am now open to selling the lens for $600 shipped to the US.

Also here are example/test photos taken at all the different apertures - these were all taken with no AF adjustment on my K-5 tripod mounted:

The two images posted here were @f4. The depth of field is so thin wide open @f1.4 that much less of those images would have been in focus.

Ha - caught me!

Yes, I suppose I do. I have a bad habit of seeing something I like and want to buy, but have to sell something in order to buy it. Been there - done that a couple times only to come back to what I originally had.

A vicious cycle!
