Gimbal head BK-45

Item Description
This is a generic gimbal head sold on eBay under various names such as BK-45, Opteka Gh-1, etc.
These gimbals are modeled after the Wimberley designs but use a nylon bushing system instead of roller bearings so the action is not as smooth in the pitch direction. Pan movement is smooth.
Tightening the knobs will solidly lock the lens into position even if it is not balanced well.
The unit requires a 3/8" screw mount on your tripod, it is recommended that it not be used on a 1/4" screw mount.
I have tested this unit with DA*300, Sigma 50-500mm and Sigma 70-200mm 2.8 lenses with K-5 and grip, and it has no issues with the weight and seems it could easily handle heavier loads.
The unit includes a 60mm Arca Swiss compatible plate - depending on your lenses you may need to get a longer plate to balance your gear.
There are no instructions with the kit but if you need to know how to balance it take a look at this page from BorrowLenses

I have owned this one a couple of months but have decided to invest in a more advanced unit.
