Item Description
Quantaray 2x TC, auto-focus (AF) with SDM contacts in excellent (like new) condition. No scuffs, scrapes, or bruises - glass is clean and clear. Comes with original caps and leatherette bag.
Some comments - the test photos were taken using my K30 with DA 55-300 at 300mm, f5.6. The AF had a very difficult time at this setting - it did lock-on on the birdfeeder, but would not lock-on on the boot (manually focused to get the comparison photo). When I went wider with an f4 aperture, the AF locked-on with no problem. Conclusion: a fast(er) lens is needed for the AF to work reliably with a 2x TC (my experience, YMMV).
The comparison photos were taken at 300mm with no TC, then at 300m with the Q 2x TC. Other than some lighting adjustments on the 300 no TC birdfeeder photo, I made NO post processing adjustments.
