In case an introduction is needed...

Back when Pentax was competing with Zeiss, they developed the Super Takumar series. These lenses are incredibly sharp, solid, silky-smooth to focus, built like armored Swiss watches, and need to be owned and enjoyed by true Pentax enthusiasts, ie, you.

Mike Johnston:
QuoteQuote:
The early Takumar designs were gorgeously built — they're just about the smoothest-focusing lenses ever made, Leica not excepted.
The Vivitar 200mm f/3.5 is the second sharpest 200mm prime I've ever owned, after my new Voigtlander 180mm (which I count as a 200mm). It's a bit better than my SMC-M 200mm f/4, and of course, sharper than any zoom I've owned that gets out to 200mm.

It's serial number is 28..., which makes it a Komine build - the same manufacturer of the Vivitar Series-1 70-210 3rd edition, one of the most coveted Series-1 lenses. This 200mm is basically the m42 Series-1 equivalent.

Included to complete your new collection is a genuine Asahi Pentax M42 screw-mount adapter. This allows any m42/screw mount lens to be used on any K-mount digital Pentax camera. It's a Pentax - not Bower, or some other 3rd-party adapter - which means you get infinity focus, but more importantly means that it will go on and off your camera with ease, and will not get stuck on the camera.

I've used a Bower adapter, and while they work well and allow infinity focus, I, like others, have gotten it stuck on my camera. After a harrowing web search, I found the 'method' needed to get it off - put the lens back on, and keep 'screwing' it forward, past the resistance points, until it's gone 360 and is back at the release point. You don't want to experience this. Included is the genuine article.

All lenses have the original lens caps, the Vivitar includes the original leather case, and the 135 includes a 49mm Hoya Skylight filter, like new. All lenses are close to mint condition, no exterior marks to speak of, and of course no optical or mechanical problems of any sort.

Below is a link to photos of all three lenses and the adapter. The outdoor shots were all taken by the Vivitar 200mm (K100D), and I will be posting photos taken by the 55 f/1.8 and 135 f/3.5 tomorrow.

Added a photo taken by the Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8. I'll add others tonight, but just know that all three of these lenses are pure sweetness

As usually happens, having fun shooting test shots, now I wish I could keep the lenses...

Anyway, added a couple taken with the 135mm Super Tak after work today:
