Tamron 18-200 was one of my first lenses owned when gettin into DSLR a few years back, Looking back I didn't know full well it versatility, sold it, sort of miss it from time to time.....

may I ask if the newer Sigma is "HSM" ed...?

No it isn't HSM It is UC. I believe that stood for Ultra Coated.

I prefer the Sigma to the Tamron, look at the reviews. Used to have a Sigma but sold it unfortunately. I should have kept it.
