[SOLD] 500mm Takumar f4.5 + Pentax M42-K adaptor

$450 CAD OBO

I have replaced the lens shot with more informative ones. I have highlighted areas (3 total) where an inside element, or the inside of the front element has what appears to be 3 imperfections in the single coating. I initially chalked this up to dust. They can only be seen when the lens is held in the right light. Frankly I didn't notice these when I originally received the lens and they have not been of any consequence to pictures taken with the lens (link to samples below). Furthermore, its clear to see that aside from these noted areas, that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the glass. lastly, I've added a picture of a small scratch where the lens cap sits for full disclosure.

Takumar 500mm f4.5 (m42) - overall excellent condition, imperfections as above. Includes front and back caps and includes a case which is in worn condition, but has done its job in guarding the lens! Leather does not age as well as metal and glass.

Notes:

- Test shots @ Collection: Lenses (tests & reviews) You'll note that the imperfections on the lens do not show up in the shots!

- Genuine Pentax M42-K adaptor

- Buyer ships.

- International ok. Note, shipping to Europe approximately $100 CDN.

- EMT, PayPal (+4%) or DD accepted.

- I will accept the first reasonable offer, I'd like to make a purchase with the funds.

- If you don't need the adaptor, you may deduct $40 from the price of the lens and I will keep it.

Thank-you,

Kelly.

If you've considered part-out, I am interested in your Pentax M42-K adaptor.

Thanks

Not for seperate sale. In fact, if the buyer does not wish to take the adaptor, he may deduct $40 from the price of the lens ($410) and I'll keep it. But thanks for looking!

OOT: I like the pic in your signature. Really impressive and stunning! Did you use gradual ND filter?

Hi Baronda,

Unfortunately I can't read Chinese, but this is the website where I got the photo from:
PENTAX big sun

Maybe someone else can provide a translation.

With kind regards,

Jos de Bont

It's not Chinese but Japanese

Google translation:
PENTAX solar telescope
150mm 105mm 75mm each have two telescopes
The telescope is equipped with a total of six "PENTAX 6 coaxial solar telescope" is a 150 mm 105mm 75mm each two for a total of six telescopes equipped with the flare and sunspot granules (granular pattern) to prominence in diameter and 3.8 constantly aspects meters in the large-screen TV monitor in real time and to observe the sun.

Hi Kyrios, thanks. In fact, I balanced the exposure best I could for foreground and sky using a C-PL to enrich the clouds, set the camera on a timer and went and sat in the pic. Later, I levelled the sky seperately from the foreground in PS to exaggerate the effect.

Hi all, I guess I paid more than market demand on this monster. I'll swallow my pride and accept reasonable offers. Barring that, I'll sail her back to the 'bay.

Don't be shy!

I cannot see the marks in the glass in detail but might they be coating marks (bubble)? Whatever it is and considering the size of the marks and the focal length, it is almost impossible that it would affect the images at all. It is a pity that I dont have the money to add your lens to my takumar collection. Good luck.
