Item Location

Item Description
Up for sale is the latest version of the Sigma 50-500mm f4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM zoom lens for Pentax cameras (Bigma BigmaOS). I acquired this lens through a trade with a friend of mine who bought it new from B&H in December 2011.

The lens is super clean and has been very well cared for. No marks at all on the exterior. All lens elements are clean and clear with no visible dust in the lens at all.

Optical Stabilization (OS) works perfectly as if should as well as the Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) for focusing. It is amazingly fast and silent.

I took some test shots on my K-5 linked below. The first 3 of the green bird house are taken at 500mm, f6.3, f7.1, f8, and f9 respectively. There are also a couple of random test images in that set.

Also in the following link is a set of images I took of a local canoe race recently. This was my first outing with the lens, and probably could have done better with some of my settings. Also I was shooting in harsh conditions with direct noon sun and over open water where a polarizing filter may have helped quite a bit.

No love for the Bigma I guess.......

This is the newest version that is sharp right out to 500mm - silent reliable HSM focusing in like-new condition.

Please remember that this lens comes with an expensive Marumi high quality UV/protective filter and an arca-swiss plate.

Reducing the price to $1150 plus actual shipping to US addresses.

Wanting it is one thing. Getting spousal approval is quite another.

the thing is that one can get a sigma 150-500mm brand new for less than you are asking for. Not sure many would like to pay more for the 50-150mm reach for a super telephoto. And the reviews tend to put them on the same level of IQ etc.
(and in Canada, if it is from a canadian reseller we get the warranty transfer)
that's mabe why ... ???

I am in the market for such a lense, but this is my point of view...
regards

A 150-500 in Canada (with warranty) is not less, and is also a different lens. [Please note, moderators will soon remove your comment on price, along with my response, so hopefully the rest of this post remains!] I've owned both the 150-500 OS and the 50-500 OS, at the same time, and I only have the 50-500mm now. The 50-500 is lighter, shorter, sharper wide open, far better IQ at ~150mm, and of course can go down to 50mm! If you are in the market for such a lens, you should consider why Sigma makes and sells both models...

Would warranty be void outside of the US?
