Why damage the A version like this? The K version costs half as much (about 240 EUR versus the 420 EUR of a fully working A) and the only difference is being destroyed in the act of crippling the aperture lever.

Also there is no need for the crippling at all, since by using liveview you can easily work with a non-crippled version on FF Canons.

Basically it makes more sense to shave off the mirror on the camera.
Using LV and non-cripped one, you are risking your mirror on the FF.
The bill can be costly.

I feel sad for this A50.

So, are you planning to "mutilate" an FA43 to fit a Canon body too? (if by any chance, you get this traded)

I believe the OP clearly showed the state of the lens and his intent on the sale/trade. Shouldn't we let him get on with it?

Well, someone that is capable of this

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-film-slr-discussion/227797-my-jour...-part-1-a.html

deserves a little bit of respect.

I believe 43 limited lever may be removed non permanently.

Regards.

If that aperture lever is replaced, it would probably boost the value of this lens by $200-$300 depending on the overall condition...

Will trade for a FA 43 1.9 limited.
Just the 1.2 lens or that funny plastic thing attached to it as well?

Funny how with just one post montman instantly became the least popular person on this forum!

This might make someone's heart ache, but at least this A 50 1.2 is actually being used on a digital camera as it was intended to be.
And one can always replace the bayonet if he wishes to, so I really don't understand why such concern.

I think your referring to the lens hood, which is metal. Or maybe you are talking about the adapter on the back which is metal as well. But yes, it's included.

There was 5D MII recently here ot on FleeBay with 2mm of the mirror grinded out by some shop. Just to use M42 and K lenses.
