You can buy a DA* 16-50 everywhere, but a FA* 24/2 you can't

Damn, I have this lens a little later than you, Frank. But I love it so much, great for my walkabout style. Good luck with the sale.

Point taken

Very true. I saw an FA*24 come and go on Henrys.com in the blink of an eye, for a fair bit more than Frank's asking--and I'm sure it didn't have the SMC UV filter! And already I was kicking myself for being too slow to decide to get it.

BUT my trouble is, while the 16-50 is an anytime purchase in theory, for me it's one or the other, both for my impending South America trip (rainforest...weatherproof sounds good!) and perhaps indefinitely (in that once I get one or the other, justifying the price of the 2nd will likely never be realistic for me).

STILL, yes, down the road I guess if I regreted my decision, I could sell it & buy a 16-50; nearly impossible to do the reverse...

I'M SO HOPELESSLY INDECISIVE! Which I realize will likely lead to me missing out on an incredibly rare opportunity.

Well, actually I got the DA*1650 too. I'm keeping the DA21 for those time that I don't bother bring a big zoom lens like the 1650 (to go along w/ a mid to tele lens mostly). But for event or travel, the 1650 can't be beat.

The FA*24 is not a small lens, especially comparing w/ the DA21. I kinda didn't like the DA21 too much due to its BF problem on my K10D and k100D. But it's surprisingly good on the new K20D. That's another reason I'm keeping it. I'd keep both if I hadn't got two little kids (money eaters!) ...

The asking price would be $600 plus shipping if the buyer wants to opt for a Hoya HMC 67mm filter (in mint condition too) instead of the Pentax SMC UV filter And sorry, I don't sell the Pentax SMC filter alone, unless you are willing to pay a premium price
