It's worth noting, and also obvious from the pictures, that this lens has yellowed elements due to the radioactive glass used. This can be cured with UV light (or by leaving the lens pointed in the sun for several weeks).

BTW, this yellowing is quite normal for the 50/1.4 Takumar lenses: all copies will have it.

I will provide better pics on Monday.

I don't know how you spot that immediately because i never thought it had any yellowing on elements.

Pornflake (funny username, by the way),

If you've got any old K-mount lenses that you'd be willing to part with (at bargain-basement prices... I can't afford the best of the best), don't hesitate to send a PM.

Hi ftp,

your username is also funny, you're addicted to file transfer protocol?

no k-mounts for sale, I've already settle with the k-mounts i have (for now), the only extras i have are M42's, this one and a super-tak 135mm.

i had the super tak listed here in the market place for 30€ and nobody bought it, lol.

i'm glad it didn't sell, i took this pictures a couple of weeks ago with it: https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/post-your-photos/22411-my-1st-band-shooting.html

omfg

30 euros? Não way! (corny, eh?)

Dammit. I would have bought it for that kind of money. Too late now, upgraded to K. Still on the lookout for an adapter, as I do miss using my Zeiss macro lens.

Anyway, the request remains available. I'm currently trying to cover all focal lengths (telephoto done, on the lookout for wideangle and a fast prime), and since me beginner DSLR user + poor student = not much money to go around . And maybe if one of those was an AF lens, since I have an AF camera and cannot currently take full advantage of it.

By the way, my lover is Portuguese. Lovely lady, lovely people.

Cheers!

Yellowish lenses are a common issue with Takumars.
The tint reduces or goes away if you expose the lens to open
sunlight or a UV lightsource.

Also good to know is that the DSLR's Automatic White Balance
(AWB) corrects a slight yellowish lens colour tint easily.

So don't be afraid to buy this lens, the optical properties are superb.

I have an SMC 50/1.4 with a similar lens colouring and it never
bothered me. As for today, I don't think that I will ever part with it.
