"Junk" K-mount zoom lens

I am looking for a "junk" zoom lens to mount on a "junk" K-1000 for kids to play around with. Zooms are more fun for them to manipulate. Sticky blades, fungus, and damaged filter threads are OK. It just needs to zoom and focus (i.e. slide and twist). I am willing to pay up to $10 + $5 shipped within the US.

Thanks!

How long of a zoom lens? Did you check with KEH?

I would think you'd be able to walk into a pawn shop or goodwill and grab a lens for $10 if you didn't care what it was.

HockeyDad passed on to me, attached to a non working ME Super, (now partially repaired) a Takumar-A Zoom 28 ~ 80mm

So the lens is "free" if the 6BQ5 juniors would like it, please send me a pm with address.

Oh no! The ME Super needed more than a battery? Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, that was the last of my "Free to a good home" stuff and I've been really good about not buying everything in sight lately.

That 28-80 would be the perfect lens for the kids to beat on though... it had quite a lot of mileage on it.

Hi, Hockey, We are over the baseball and taking a break.
The ME Super story:
I was able to free up a cobble in the linkage under the bottom plate, due to dried lube and dirt I think.
I took a test roll over at Port Huron, the camera is exposing fine and is light tight.
There is still a problem higher up, something not cocking properly when the wind lever is activated after the camera has been unused for a while.
And then it comes good for a while. I have the service manual but don't have the tools or dexterity to dis-assemble the top to investigate.
The mirror foam and hinge seal are deteriorated, need replacing.

I've got an MEsuper with similar symptoms. I discovered that holding it upside down when I wind on makes it work more better.

(ps sorry for the thread hijack, Boris)

Thanks to everyone who responded! It looks like my kids will have some lenses to play with. I'll be sure to post a pic of the young "photographers in training".
