This Tamron is a good copy, no need to play the Tamron Roulette! It's sharp both at the long and and the short end. Never dissatisfied with its sharpness and resolution. At 75mm / 2.8 I notice that it the focus shifted just a tiny bit when I use focus charts, but never apparent in real life situation. FWIW my nikon copy also has this same tendency. Around 60% of my shots with it is at 2.8, and without my error, it's sharp.
There are some dust inside the lens, but this seems to be pretty common and shouldn't affect IQ. I tried my best to photograph it but couldn't really show it properly.
The rubber on the zoom ring has loosened a little, but does not cause problems on operation. If you want to fix it perhaps you can get a new rubber ring from Tamron, although I dont see a reason why.
Great lens and I knew I will miss it so I already re-bought it in another mount. Comes with the original hood and front cap, and a generic back cap.
Taking the loosened zoom ring and dust into account I price it at $285+ shipping with paypal
