I'm very sorry, Tim, to have brought up QC in the first place. I don't know what I was thinking, except that I was being conscious of the QC issues of the DA*16-50 I just purchased, and being interested to see a similar debate in another lens. I had no intention to scare off potential buyers.

SOMEBODY BUY THIS LENS RIGHT NOW. IT'S A FANTASTIC LENS. THESE TOKINA'S DO INDEED HAVE EXCELLENT BUILD QUALITY. YOU SHOULD HAVE EVERY CONFIDENCE IN IT.

BTW, I meant to say before: gorgeous shot of the flowers. Beautiful bokeh. By comparison, check out the crap bokeh in my first ever challenge entry posting:

What the hell is going on with the "K20D" label?

No worries, David.

This is why we have these public offerings, so people can weigh in on the pros and cons of the equipment. That's the point of forums.
Besides, anyone spending this kind of money on a lens would have probably read all the reviews you mentioned.

Tim.

Wow, I totally forgot about this thread. It's still here if anyone wants it.

Would consider a trade for a 17-70 or a 18-250 (with appropriate cash adjustments)

Took this baby out a couple of weekends ago.
Some pics, if anyone is interested....
