[SOLD] FS: Tokina 28-80mm f2.8

I'm trying to gauge interest in a Tokina AF 28-80mm F2.8 (AT-X 280AF PRO).
Apparently, this lens is hard to get in the US. This particular copy was ordered from Korea (the south kind )
It was owned by a pro photographer who had a pet Pentax setup, which I bought in its entirety and now I have to sell stuff I can't afford to keep.

The lens is in almost perfect cosmetic and optical condition. The matching Tokina filter was always on.
It's built like a tank. Feels like you got a real lens and not a toy.

Comes with everything as if it was brand new (box, pouch, hood, and paperwork in Korean). Also comes with a 77mm Tokina filter.

It sells for $600ish new. So I'd like $400 (reduced price, see below) for it, plus whatever shipping/fees.

PM if interested.
Tim.

You could sell the driver seat to get this lens.

Pics. Yay!

Who needs a car when you can get a lens
Here are some pics of the lens.

Unfortunately, I don't have many pics taken with the lens, because I've only mounted it once, but I've included one of them.
I can take more if there is interest.

I used to own the same lens and let me tell you, it's a nice piece of glass. Built like a tank and super sharp, along with some very nice bokeh to go along with that. I missed it the second I sold it.

Hah, we wouldn't have all the LBA discussions if people could afford other stuff along with lenses. It's either one or the other. CHOOSE WISELY

If I still shot film this lens would be the obvious partner to my recently acquired ATX Pro 80-200 "tank". As is, though, I bit the bullet and got the DA16-50, and thank god it seems to be a decent copy! I prefer that combo of ranges with a gap, rather than seamless 28-200 with nothing fast wider than 28.

BUT I would think film shooters or people looking for one single f/2.8 zoom should give this offering serious consideration.

Looking at photographyreview.com reviews of this lens, sounds like Tokina also had QC issues with this lens back in the day, but the recent posts are all 5/5, so hopefully a recent copy can be counted on.

This copy seems to be free of QC issues. I certainly feel the quality is up to par.

Well, isn't this GREAT

Just decided to give the lens a clean, and, upon close examination, found some minuscule marks on the back element.

These marks don't show up in the pictures at all.
However, in light of this the price has been reduced to $400.

Man, if I didn't need the money, I wouldn't even think of selling this one.
