SMC Pentax-DA* 16-50mm F2.8 ED AL [IF] SDM

for an

SMC Pentax-DA* 50-135mm F2.8 ED [IF] SDM

I just don't get along well with this lens. I suppose I am not a wide-angle person: I tend to observe details more than scenery, and when I photograph people I prefer longer focal lenghts to stepping right up into their faces, so to speak. I mostly use it at 50mm anyway, and so the trade would make excellent sense to me.

I am hoping someone out there with the 50-135mm faces the opposite problem: Wanting to be able to zoom out to capture that indoor scene, group shot, whatever. They are similarly priced in the lens database here on the forum, but if someone has a "like new" 50-135mm, I might be able to throw in a vintage lens or something, to make the trade more fair.

My lens is missing its cap and hood, but includes a uv-filter. The coating is slightly damaged (never affected image quality), but no dust or damage to the glass at all. I never had any problems with the focus motor, as I understand is the case with some copies of this lens. Bought it used off amazon marketplace in November, and never really loved it. I hope someone else will... :-)

Trading pictures of our lenses in just a bit...

Here are some photos of the lens, and a close-up of the scratches to the coating using a kenko close-up filter on my SMC Pentax-A 28mm F2.8. The close-ups look A LOT worse than with the naked eye, and again, I never saw any evidence of these on any of my photos. Adding sample shots also.

...The "smear-like" marks on the front element are due to my just having wiped it with a lens tissue...

Man, that close-up looks ugly. That is not at all what the lens look like when you have it in your hand. But, hey, now I showed it from its worst side, and noone can claim to be shocked... :-/
