Great lens

I recommend this lens very highly.I just sold mine because I wasn't getting enough use out of it to justify keeping it.

If I bought this lens, I'd have to make a choice shortly after it's arrival:

Sell the lens, or sell the wife - since there's a better chance of recouping my investment in the lens, I'd have to sell the lens

I am not sure what information you are looking for but let me add a bit more information to the description.

I acquired the lens about 2 years ago from a forum member. But since then I have used it only occasionally because of the weight and size. In my opinion, this lens takes a lot of practice to master which I have not. Thus I am selling it to finance the purchase of another lens. The lens is front heavy so you will need a long plate on the lens mount to balance the lens when set on a tripod. As with some older lens, this lens is prone to purple fringing under high contrast conditions because it is not designed for digital cameras. However, the problem can be corrected by post-processing.

The lens surely have a long reach. The focus ring is very smooth and precise. Very easy to use. However, depth of field is paper thin, coupled with the long reach, it surely take a very steady hand to get sharp pictures.

I have not kept a good tab on photos taken with this lens but I will try to find a few and post them tomorrow.

If I had the ca$h , I'd definitely buy this lens in a heart beat , you made the fatal mistake to think that there is no interest in this lens , but in actual fact I keep coming back to your thread to see if anyone has bought it , and no I haven't blown any cash on k3 either.
As for purple fringing , that's easy to fix in post.

I envy whoever ends up buying this beast and wish you all the best of luck with the sale.

You take way better pictures than I do with this lens. Why did you sell your copy?

It was the money, and that was an easy way to get a large chunk of it at once...

But not without regretting it every moment until you replace it, am I right?

True, if not the same lens then something equally as capable.

Still interested

My only concern now is the blue fringing. Is there an easy way to eliminate the fringing without destroying image quality. It's a lot of money to spend and not get sharp images that can't be used.

The purple fringing only occurs only in high contrast conditions. As I indicated in my previous post, it can be eliminated by post processing. The fringing itself does not affect image sharpness.
