Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 II EX DC APO HSM

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Sigma 50-150mm F2.8 II EX DC APO HSM (relisting)

Asking Price
580 USD

Item Location
Portland OR (United States)

Item Description
Reluctantly relisting a recent item -

I recently purchased two ideal lenses for my kit, and this is the better one - but it has to go after a very short time in my hands.
Also note the DA70 sale - one or the other lens must sell ASAP! When one of these sells the other listing will be pulled!

This is the Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 II EX DC APO HSM (what a mouthful ), and this copy is everything others have said about it! Test shots to the corners show great sharpness, the HSM is nice and quiet, and other than being 750+ grams (as it must for these specs) I cannot find any problems with it. It's one lens too many, and I know it's the heavy ones that I leave behind when I go afield. It's the old story: "it's not you, it's me"

Comes with hood caps and Sigma soft case.

FOR SALE $580 plus shipping. It's heavy so shipping isn't cheap, shipping weight should be just under 3 pounds.
I have just acquired a K-7 body so I am withdrawing the trade option.

More shots of and with the lens are at my PIcasa site

Bump for an stellar zoom lens, with fast and silent AF, gorgeous bokeh, and sharp optics. My best zoom lens, comes close to prime quality

Bump with no trade option now; I've just picked up a used K-7 for my wet-weather needs. Yes, just before the holiday sales - but it really was a good price!

Wouldn't this be a great sports lens for a K-3?

I should think the extra pixel density and f/2.8-precision central AF sensors would match up very well together.
I won't know for some time, since my budget is hardly big enough for this lens alone.. much less a K-3 body.

More images of and with the lens are at my Picasa test folder!

If I didn't already own one, I'd be all over this! I'm surprised it's still here to be honest.

---------- Post added 11-23-13 at 12:22 AM ----------

Here's a picture I shot with my 50-150mm at a birthday party. The picture was shot at f/2.8, and was lit from windows to the side. Click on the image to view the full size picture. I think you will be surprised with how sharp the lens is at f/2.8.

When I've compared the results from my 50-150mm to online samples from the Pentax 50-135mm, I've always felt like the Sigma was a bit sharper wide-open.
