FINAL PRICE: Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f3.5 Zoom (Version 1)

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f3.5 Zoom (Version 1)

Asking Price
50.00 USD (REDUCED!)

Item Location
Austin, Texas (United States)

Item Description
For sale is a beautiful copy of the legendary Vivitar Series 1, version 1 built by Kiron. This one is in excellent optical and cosmetic condition with clean glass, snappy blades, smooth zoom with no creep, and smooth, well dampened focus. This lens shows only the slightest signs of careful use and looks to have been stored in its case most of its life. The only cosmetic issue is the Series 1 lens cap has some decayed case foam stuck to the outside surface ... needs some patience to soak or scrape it off. The lens cap works fine otherwise. This is a fully manual lens, with no autofocus or AE function.

Note: To use this lens with a modern DSL camera, the shutter linkage guard must be removed (three screws at the rear mount-easy) or Dremeled to properly mount. The sample photos below were taken with the guard removed. I remounted the guard for sale, as you see it in the photos below.

A legendary shooter with great contrast and rendition, a solid and vibrant macro, and a retro look that is awesome on a digital body!

I might be interested in your lens depending on the lens mount. I have the same lens in Nikon mount but might need one in Pentax K as well.

If you can clarify which mount it is, that will be great.

Thanks!

Sent you a Private message RAART. It IS a Pentax K mount for any interested buyers. It works as-is on a film Pentax, and requires the black link guard to be removed for use on a Pentax DSLR. Removal is easy, non destructive and reversible.

Still available, so here is a bump for an excellent lens!

Just free apology bump while I did not respond on time!

I got Tamron SP 70-210 f3.5 CF Macro BBAR MC 19AH lens on the same day you responded at local retail store. Just waiting for adaptall 2 with P-KA mount to arrive which I will use on my 90mm f2.5 Macro (52BB) and on this one. Sorry but I saw your message when I got home with the lens. Hope you will have a good sale while my Vivitar (nikon) was really good on D300. Just have to busy life currently...

It can also be dremeled easily, for a more permanent solution. Just duplicate the shape of the guard on a more recent lens, and use a sharpie on the dge. 20 minutes fix, if you take your time.
