Item for Sale
Asahi Pentax K2DMD in great shape.

Asking Price
250.00 EUR

Item Location
Oland (Sweden)

Item Description
My mothers camera which she used at work in a hospital.
Shes the only owner and left it to me to sell.

As far as I can see its in great shape and everything seems to work as expected.
Inside looks great. New even. The mirror damper looks good too.

This is one great camera in great shape and if Pentax ever made a great camera this might be the one, atleast according to the reviewers who gives it 10/10 and I cant find any other Pentax made camera that gets a perfect 10.
Wish I could use it myself...

Why don't you keep and use this camera?

For those who are interested, I have two K2 DMDs and they are great cameras.

I have been thinking about it.
Problem is I have very little experience shooting and developing film. Dont know what types to use and even worse, were to buy film.
Then it needs developing. Then probably scanning which seems a bit expensive unless there a smart diy way?
The quality and feeling of the camera is so much nicer then my K5 but the logistics simply overwelms me a bit.

Hi
Do the rings for ASA and exporsure compensation work?
Have you tested the ligh meter?

Thanks

I can try later this afternoon but I think you should tell me the best/simplest ways to test this for you?

You can find film and have it professionally developed and scanned, too. You might give it a try at least. That is a great camera.

I sent you a PM about film and developing options. The manual will show you how to adjust the exposure compensation and film ASA rings. On the K2 and K2 DMD these rings can become stiff as the camera sits or ages and won't turn.

Here's the manual to the K2: http://www.lensinc.net/manuals/Pentax_K2L.pdf. Here's the manual to the K2 DMD, which is just a few pages to add to the K2 manual linked above: http://www.cameramanuals.org/pentax_pdf/pentax_k2_motor_drive.pdf.

Finally got time to test the camera.
Exposure compensation seems to work perfectly and so does Auto, mirror lockup, DOF check and use with a modern flash ( Metz 58AFII)
The ASA dial is tricky but I could change it so it seems to work even if its the worst part on this camera.
Really strange design on that one.

I pointed my K5 using a SMC 55/f2 on a white wall and snapped of an image. THen moved the lens over to my K2DMD and set it to the same and Auto and times looks the same.
In this case it was 1/80 ISO400 F6.3
What was odd was that my K5 underexposed A LOT so I had to change it from 1/320 down to 80 to get a good exposure. Lucky me I have a K3 on the way....

If I cant sell this one I might just keep it and get some film.

I agree, I love my film cameras. Shooting film makes you a better photographer.
This is a fine camera, I'd buy if I had not just blown so much during black Friday/ cyber week...

I had a K2DMD in my collection for many years and it was my favorite Pentax film body. Just this year I've reduced my collection dramatically because I was only getting out with film once a year (or less) per body. The DMD (and K, SuperProgram, 2 K2's, LX, H1a, Spottie and MESuper) went to friends and Forum members. The only one I pine for is the DMD.

Buy a bigpack of film from Cyberphoto or similar and you'll be set for a while. Though I'm stuck at the develop part.

Lol-
Thanx.
Whats your situation on the developing then?
Trying on your own or looking for someone that can do it proper for you?

I imagine you would want a really good old fashioned developer and not the quick machines they use?
