Thank you.

I shooted with the FA50 f1.4 (little marvel). I used two speedlights SB24 off camera one at each side of the "product box". In some shoots I had one flash turned off by mistake (I forgot to switch on the cactus receiver) but I dont remember which ones (watching the case of the Takumar I think that it has to be those). For blackground I used black velvet.

by speedlight you mean slave flash?
with main flash not firing?

I have the FA50 and an AF360fgz but I dont think i can get anything close to this.

I think getting the lighting conditions just right is more important than having the right lens?
eg. the kit lens with the slave flashes probably would have produced good images too.

I used 2 nikon speedlights off camera. I didnt fire the flash on camera, I used a wireless cactus trigger V2s (you put it in the camera hot shoe) and receivers (you put the flashes on them wherever you want but always inside an area since the wireless trigger has its limitations). By not having on camera flash, you avoid most of the direct reflections that you usually have on shinny surfaces that are facing the camera.

For products shoots I think that lighting is almost more important that the lens but a good lens that gives you flexibility for close-ups, good resolution, contrast etc is quite important.
