Sigma 100-300 f4 EX APO DG for Pentax - Excellent Condition - SUPER RARE!

1,250.00 USD

Item Description
I really, really hate to put this lens up for sale since I searched for it so long, but the truth is that I just don't use it very often and I can use the money for one of my other hobbies. My family is not very adventurous, and my daughters mostly do indoor activities such as ballet, gymnastics, and music, so my Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 is usually sufficient for my telephoto needs. But I already know I'll be kicking myself two or three times a year when I miss a good opportunity to utilize a 300mm lens!

I already listed this lens once last year, but I quickly pulled the ad when I started to suffer from premature onset of seller's remorse. So if you have been waiting for a chance to get one of these, you might not want to hesitate too long.

Everything you've heard about this legendary lens is true. It's extremely sharp and has fantastic image quality. It's a good lens to perfect your telephoto shooting, because if your shot does not come out sharp, you know you did something wrong...bad technique, insufficient shutter speed, depth of field too shallow, etc. In short, you will not be disappointed with this lens (although the lens may sometimes be disappointed with you! )

The lens is in excellent condition, and comes with the hood, tripod mount, front cap, rear cap, and the original padded carrying case w/ strap.

Sample Images

The following sample images were all shot by me with this exact lens on my K-30 and they were all handheld. You can click on each of the images to view a larger version. I believe the full-size images are all 100% crops, except for the basketball shot which I downsized to help eliminate noise from shooting at a high ISO. With most lenses, one may hesitate to post a 100% crop, but this Sigma has nothing to hide!

Great lens, sell the 50-150 instead, you have the 28-75 to fill the gap,

I think it's kind of like somebody having to choose between one of their kids! You can't imagine getting rid of any of them! But for my girls' indoor activities such as ballet and gymnastics the 50-150mm is a range I utilize much more frequently, and given the lighting conditions and fast subject movement the f/2.8 is indispensable.

Today only I have reduced the price to $1150, because there is an eBay auction ending soon that I would like to bid on, so I could use the money. After the eBay auction ends, I will have no sense of urgency to sell the lens, and the price will go back up to $1250. So for somebody who is on the fence, today would be a good time.

I use this lens maybe once or twice a year along with the 1.4 TC and every year I think about selling it. This lens can compete heads up with any *lens on the market today. I would sell one of my kids before I sold my Sigma 100~300 EX + 1.4 TC.
And that's all I have to say about that...

It takes a strong man to sell a lens like that.

It also takes a strong man to buy a lens like that (if he's married!)

Argh, I have wanted this lens for quite some time now. Had it gone up for sale when I was in the USA over Christmas, I think I would have bought it. As it stands, being back in Canada, the import costs are just too steep for such a pricey prize.
