Pentax F* (F Star) 600mm F4

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing

Item for Sale
Pentax F* (F Star) 600mm F4 & A1.4x-L Tele & Wimberley Head.

Asking Price
9,999.00 CAD

Item Location
Vancouver (Canada)

Item Description
This is a great old lens, with an integrated double lens hood.
It looks a little rough on the outside, but works very well.
I will also include the Pentax 1.4x teleconverter, and the Wimberly gimbled tripod head.

The lens is Auto focus, but only manual focus while using the teleconverter.
The 600mm is a 900mm on the 1.5 apsc sensors. 1260 F5.6 with the teleconverter...
Takes a lot of practice to get sharp results. Holding your breath can make all the difference.

This one is getting a little heavy for me to carry. I think it is time for someone else to enjoy it.

Here's the info pages on this site.

Does the Pentax AFA 1.7x Adapter work on this lens and continues to provide AF?

I'll post some pictures tonight. For now, I plan to keep it as a set. Took me 5 years to find the tele for the lens, it would be a shame to break up the set. (Had to import the tele it from Japan).

The 1.7x does work. You need to close focus manually. However 1.7x is a long zoom on this lens, and makes it even more difficult to hold steady. I have one of those as well, and will take some test shots with my K3 on the weekend.

Ok, here are some snapshots of the lens. Taken this evening before the light was gone. K3 - 40mm Pancake. Cropped and merged, but no adjustments or cleanup. If serious, let me know and I can send you original files.

I will post a couple of what you see through it in a few minutes.

The lens hood used to stick and caused the scratch in the paint. That has been repaired, and everything works perfectly. Just shows it's age in the exterior paint.

A shot of the Pentax Case, and the wimberly tripod head. (Required to use this lens effectively). Also a comparison of with and without the teleconverter. The teleconverter shots are just the jpgs right out of the camera, re-sized down so that I can upload them. No editing other than adding the text.

Here are a couple of examples of what you can get

Cropped and glued together to fit the page. Not going for a great composition... just an example. I'm a bit out of practice, the lens can do better.

looking for your address, so after you have robbed the bank, and brought the lens, we can tell the police, and then use the lens while you are in the slammer
