My impressions Great lens. Most versatile I've ever used. It's a great walk around lens and a great step up from the kit lens.It really is a hard one to let go, especially for so cheap. Why it's a step up from the kit lens It's faster Wider and longer across the zoom focal length Sharper Has a "macro" function (1:2.3) that allows for closer focusing and greater magnification (example of focusing distance and magnification in attached pic of lego mini figure) Focuses internally Has a shorter throw, so it theoretically focuses faster Has a zoom lock Condition Barrel looks perfect. Zoom and focus move smoothly. Aperture is snappy and oil free. Some internal dust but nothing that affects image quality. The hood has signs of wear around the edges. Also the hood sits loosely on the camera. It will stay on the camera when the hood is not being touched, it just does not click into place (I still used it). The front and rear elements are perfect aside from front element having a tiny mark on it that I could not clean off (circled in attached pic). It's the size of a speck of dust. It's on the edge, no where near the center. It has zero affect on image quality. In terms of using the lens, and IQ, it is completely irrelevant. Since I've owned it.... It has never been dropped nor fallen. Has never bumped into anything. Has never been in dusty, wet, nor moist conditions. Has never been excessively hot nor cold. Always has had front and rear caps in place and in a camera bag when not in use. Has lived in a smoke-free home. Was babied. Shipping Free shipping to the continental United States. I will ship it internationally, but additional shipping charges will be added to the price. Pics I have attached pictures taken with the lens and 100% crops for the pixel peepers. It's very sharp. Also attached is a pic of everything being sold, how close the lens will focus to a subject, and the mark on the front element.
