Item for Sale
Pentax K FA* 300mm 2.8

Asking Price
2,700.00 USD

Item Location
Salt Lake City (United States)

Item Description
Rare Pentax FA* 300mm 2.8 for sale.

Optically excellent condition. Mechanically excellent condition. Paint has some rub damage from years of professional use. This lens has seen use in Africa, North America, and South America. Been in Land Rovers, Toyotas, Jeeps, etc all over the world.

Fantastic lens. Performs flawlessly. Excellent hood design and focus limiter. This becomes equivalent to a 420 f 2.8 on a k dslr. If I was using my k system more there is no way I would sell it.

Included is the original soft case, arca style plate, 112mm filter.

Please see my other listings as well if you want to combine items.

I own one of these. they are pretty special. it focuses closely making for some pretty dramatic opportunities if you add a TC and get real close.

I used a Sigma 1.4x dg. Found it to be the best pair to the lens.

I used the 1.7x adapter. in this case. I own both the 2x-L and the 1.4x-L converters as well. Because of their physical
configuration you cannot stack the to "L's" together so when it comes to stacking converters I'll stack the 2x-L with
either the 1.7x or a 1.4-S which I also have.

Generally speaking before I get that frantic though I'll move to a longer lens. The Pentax-a 400m f/2.8 is a really underloved
lens for converter mounting. If you want to use a converter, start out with fast glass over everything else. Otherswise you
have eaten so many f stops that the light meter and the focusing go haywire when you start piling on the converters.
